The Blender menu system pages describe the implementation of the menu system in Blender version 2.10 and the problems with it. In addition, it will propose changes and describe the implemented changes.
In Blender, commands can be issued and tools can be activated in three ways:
Blender is heavily dependent on the hotkeys. This is good for experienced users but as they can work very fast but novice users have difficulties finding and/or remembering the right hotkey.
Currently, the Blender menus (both the main menu and the toolbox) do not give access to all functionality available in Blender. From both menu systems, the toolbox offers the richest command set. Ideally, all functionality in Blender should be accessible through both the menu system and the toolbox. Then, the menu structure will be a mental map of all the functionality in Blender.
